Forum Rules:

1) Posting and Actions:
a) ISSUES: If an issue arises with another poster or staff, which does happen from time to time, you must make use of the Moderation Center, and/or PM a staff member. If you bring it up on the boards other than in the Moderation Center, you will be warned. If after being warned you do not comply, then possibly banned.
b) POSTING TO BOOST POST COUNT: If you are found to be posting only to raise your post count, those posts may be deleted. This may include, but are not limited to, posts with just one word or just an emoticon. Obviously, not every time someone does this does it mean they’re doing it just to boost their post count, this is a discretionary call made by staff and staff only.
c) MEMBER HARASSMENT: Harassment or "bashing" of any member of this forum is NOT ALLOWED. This includes former cast members of any reality show that may be a member here, or their family. Staff are also considered members, and harassment/flaming WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Keep the drama for your momma ‘because we don’t need it and DON’T want it here.
d) RACISM, BIGOTRY: NO. We’re all for free speech but the first amendment doesn’t apply to a privately owned message board. We’re chill people here so it’s NOT ALLOWED to go after someone specifically because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, creed, religion, origin, disability or anything else staff may consider offensive, slanderous or libelous.
e) POSTING: Please don’t post several times in a row if it’s something that could be said in one post. Edit your post if you want to quote another post, the modify key is there for that very reason. If you’re having trouble figuring it out, feel free to ask staff, we’re there for you and we want to help.
f) YELLING (like I just did): Do not post in all caps. It’s yelling, it’s annoying and it’s rude. You get one warning. If your post contains more than 25% in all caps, it will be considered annoying, it will be deleted, and this rule will pertain.
g) OFF TOPIC POSTS: If we feel they’re worth keeping then we’ll split them off into their own thread. Threads are bound to go off topic once in awhile. However, if a staff member deems the post not worthy of its own thread, then it may be deleted. Please keep in mind however, and this is meant especially and specifically for live feed update discussions or show threads for discussion during the airing of any show (i.e. during commercials), there are times when there’s literally NOTHING going on (BB live feeds), so people do tend to discuss other off topic issues, especially when waiting for the feeds to come back on. This happens and may be allowed at staff discretion. Also, keep in mind that we do have the general discussion section/chit chat thread if you “just want to chat”. That being said, if you purposely go into another thread simply to throw something out there, just to piss someone off, you will be warned. Keep doing it and you get a vacay.
h) REPEATS: Topics already being discussed will be merged into one thread. We have a search function, so if you fail to use this and continue to post the same topic over and over without using it, you could be put on a moderated status. This bodes especially for BB major event days, such as HOH and POV. It’s typical to see three or four threads of the same topic go up at once. This is expected and understandable and will simply be merged when found.

2) AVATARS: No inappropriate avatars. If any normal person wouldn't show it to a five year old, then you shouldn't have it here. The appropriateness of your avatar will be judged by the owners and staff. If deemed inappropriate, it will be removed. If you continue to use one deemed inappropriate, your avatar privileges will be removed, and you will be warned.

3) NASTY USER NAME: Please don’t pick an offensive user name. Don’t pick one that’s impersonating someone else, and do NOT pick a user name that insults or bashes any member of this forum. If a former cast member of a show joins this forum, and your user name is bashing them, we will insist it be changed. Please refer to staff for help in doing so.

4) LINKING TO OTHER SITES: Don’t link images that are on other sites, this includes avis. Best way to do it is to save it to your computer and then upload it, or you can PM staff and we can get it put up for you. Using a service such as Photobucket for AVIs however, is fine. Linking to another site's article is ok, as long as it is appropriate. Again, that is left to the discretion of staff.

5) ADVERTISING US: We love more than anything that you wish to get our name out there! However, don’t post directly on another site advertising YAKKITYYAKS unless the owner of that site says it’s okay. Please use our invitation system to invite your friends.

6) COPYRIGHT: Please don’t copy anything written here unless the author says it’s okay. Posting content here from another site is ok, as long as you give credit where credit is due, and include a link back to the original material. If the author asks us for it to be removed, it will be immediately, with warning.

7) ACCOUNT: You may only have one account here per IP or email address. If you’re banned and you keep coming back here under another user name to avoid the first banning you’ll be banned from our server.

8) REPORTING A POST: If you’re reporting a post or a user, don’t report them over and over and over again. If you don’t’ like that poster, fine, don’t read their posts, use the ignore function, or use the Mediation Center. All reports are sent to us, and we do see them. There is no need to report twice.

9) SIGNATURES: We do not allow any links in your sigs or avis. If you want to do so, and think it's appropriate, you may ask staff for permission.

10) BAITING: If you don’t like another member, again, that’s fine and that’s life, this isn’t Sesame Street. However, hanging around a thread and posting, purposely, opposite views of one poster for the sole purpose of angering them or trying (baiting) them to "bite" back will not be tolerated. THREAD HIJACKING will not be tolerated as well.

11) NO THREAD STALKING. See number 12.

12) HOT TOPICS: If you do get into a discussion of a political or religious nature, please keep in mind that while you are free to state your mind and thoughts on it, so is everyone else. Just as strongly as you feel about it, so do they, and it’s NOT cool and NOT allowed to judge someone because of their opinion. Debating is fine, disagreeing is fine, but leading someone to be afraid to state their opinion for fear of judgment by others there is not allowed.

13) GUESTS: While we're very lenient as to the sort of language used here, when we have an official chat with a guest, language must be appropriate, i.e. no swearing, etc. Failure to adhere to this will result in you being booted from the chat room.

14) ARCADE: There will be no attacking another member in the arcade, concerning anything to do with the arcade or any other reason. Comments will be monitored. Subsequently, any of this behavior could result in a warning and/or banning from the arcade itself. Use of autoplayer and/or cheat WILL result in banning from the arcade as well.

15) YAKKITYYAKS does NOT endorse any particular political candidate, party, religion etc. and we don’t’ officially endorse a stance on any other issue. We accept no liability for anyone dumb enough to post their personal information for all the public to see. We accept no liability for anything a child may see while perusing the website and forum. That is the parents job to make sure they are monitored on the internet. We accept no liability on anything really, period.

16) CHAT ROOM: The rules that apply for our forums apply to our chat room as well. Failure to adhere to them, well it's the same punishment as breaking forum rules. If you want to talk naughty, do so in the IM box of chat. We don't want to read your cybersex.

17) In reference especially to the Big Brother boards, but also towards any of our entertainment boards in general, thoughts or remarks of violence towards a personality is not allowed, even in a joking manner. Keep it to flaming.

18) The owners of YAKKITYYAKS reserve the right to alter, change, delete or add to these rules at any point in time without notification. It is probably a good idea to peruse this periodically to check for changes.
