Good Day, folks! After checking with our wonderful admins, I was granted permission to start a series of breaking news threads here on YY! They will be updated with breaking news throughout the day.

For those of you who do not know me, I am a professional journalist with experience with BNO News (and the @BreakingNews twitter feed) as well as Ora TV (Larry King's news organization) and their @NewsBreaker twitter feed.

National Weather Service Chicago: No tornado or severe warnings currently in effect, w/severe wx threat coming to an end for most of area. However, not an all clear from hazardous weather, as very strong west winds gusting to 40-60 mph into early eve. Minor tree damage poss & lightweight may be thrown. Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles on N-S roadways.
