Default concussion symptoms?

Okay, yesterday I cracked heads with my son, and then I hit it on the entertainment center as I fell over. That was yesterday, and since then I been light-headed, nauseated, and extremely fatigued. Any type of quick motion brings on the light-headedness and nausea as well. Does this sound like a possible concussion? Other than rest and taking it easy, is there anything else a I can do?

First of all, yes, you should go to do the Dr to make sure, especially if you have symptoms other than pain on the impact spot.

Second, sleeping isn't the best answer. If you have a concussion you should be monitored when you sleep to make sure you, you know, wake up.

Third, how is your son?

Go to urgent care just to make sure. I wouldn't take chances with that.

Son's fine. I think it was the impact with the entertainment center that reallly did it for me, and my son just fell back on the couch. He said he feels fine.

Did you lose consciousness? Any vomiting? Changes in vision? Any bump on your head or pain when you touch where you hit? This sounds like a concussion ... I wouldn't propose a scan, but I want to see how you answer my questions above..

Didn't really lose consciousness. No vomiting but it really felt like I could have, especially when I tried to eat something. There's no bump or pain where I hit it, but I did hit it on a flat surface (entertainment center side). As for the vision part, the main thing was that it seemed like my vision couldn't keep up with any type of head movement, which really brought on dizziness.

Feeling better today, just a little more fatigue tham normal and a little sensitivity to light, but not much more.

You likely have a concussion. You really need 100% mental/physical rest. I know it's hard, but avoid any type of brain stimulation...that includes games, computer, phone, tv, etc. You really should see your primary doc for an eval, though.
